Our Initiatives

Social responsibility for Tenon is a strategic priority. We believe that company’s equity is inextricably linked to the prosperity of its clients, employees, communities and society at large. Sustainability is not something to support the profits we make, but rather a path to delivering profitability. Tenon weaves sustainability into the very fabric of the organization. For Tenon, CSR is not ad hoc or subject to mere tokenism, it is a business model based on the 3 Ps – People, Policies and Processes.

We adopted a government school in Dhaur village of Jhajjar district in Haryana in 2015 to provide educational support to the underprivileged children. Lack of restroom facilities and well-maintained classrooms compelled young children to drop out of school and compromise with their education. As a responsible corporate citizen, we extended the infrastructural support to the school. By the end of 2019, the dilapidated Senior Secondary Government School was completely transformed into an aspirational educational structure. More than 400 students can now boast of 10 state-of-the-art classrooms, improved restroom facilities, a well-equipped library, a fully functional science lab, solar panels for continuous electricity supply and much more. We have witnessed a significant drop in absenteeism, especially girls due to improved sanitation conditions and improved academic performance due to better infrastructure.

We firmly believe that we can improve the lives of the people by making a very small contribution. We augment decent employment opportunities for the unskilled, low-skilled and semi-skilled labour with vocational trainings and skill development programmes. Working in tandem with National Skill Development Council (NSDC), we ensure that our security personnel and FM professionals develop and refine their skills to meet the standard benchmark of quality. We enhance the capacity of the individuals to manage economic and social risks such as unemployment, sickness and old-age on their own. Providing tools for sustainability means that not only the person can earn a livelihood but also over a while, that person can provide employment to others like him. We have also been associated with an NGO called Goonj to provide poor and underprivileged people in all over India with the necessities such as food and clothes. Nearly 2000 people in the remotest parts of India were directly benefitted with our clothes donation initiative.

More than 8,000 people in Dhaur and surrounding villages now have direct & easy access to primary healthcare. Tenon Group in partnership with Shri Raghuveer Singh Rajain Trust has set up a dispensary unit in Dhaur with a paramedic team and 24×7 ambulance service which have directly impacted 8000 people in and around the village. A professional and certified doctor is deployed at the healthcare unit to offer the free of cost treatment and medicines to the patients. Earlier, there were no adequate medical facilities were available for the villagers and the underprivileged. People had to go to surrounding villages in small hospitals and clinics to get medical advice and treatment. With our Tenon Cares initiative, all villagers can now avail quality healthcare services near to them and can call the 24×7 available ambulance in case of an emergency.

Tree plantation drive is organised every year by Tenon Group by planting Neem and Jamun saplings in and around Dhaur village to increase awareness about the environment and the ways in which we can work towards its conservation at the grass-root level. It also aimed at yielding a greener surrounding and decreasing our carbon print on the environment. Tenon Group has always been a pioneer in introducing innovative solutions. We have also installed solar panels all across the school campus to ensure that not just the students get a continuous supply of electricity to study in well-lit classrooms, but also that we contribute towards conservation and sustainable living. Till date, we have planted more than 4000 trees in Dhaur and encouraged scores of people to actively participate in such a sapling plantation drive to make the village cleaner and greener.
